"Earth rated" does not mean compostable. (It does say that the box and little cardboard tube inside each roll are made from recycled paper, but the bags themselves are not made from anything readily compostible).
But all is not lost: the same company, Poop Bags, make a compostable product too :) See

Marketing: confusion abounds: the use of the term "Earth Rated" (which made me think "compostable"). The description says: "At Earth Rated, we don't leave out the littlest of details as even our rolls' core and our packaging is made from recycled content!" except that they DID leave out the littlest of details: the bag is NOT from recycled material, and is NOT made from a compostable material. You can't throw these bags in your compost pile. 1 star for misleading marketing.
Functionality: The product itself works great, so that part I give a 5 star.
Total: 3 star.
Buy their compostable bags instead and help save the planet!
